Disease

Parasomnia

The term 'parasomnia' refers to disorders that are not so much the result of disturbances in the sleep/wake processes per se, but rather are characterised by the manifestation of undesirable physical phenomena during sleep.

Parasomnia includes any abnormal behaviour or symptoms during sleep, such as anxiety attacks, sleepwalking, vivid dreams or nightmares, sleep talking, teeth grinding, sleep seizures, etc.
