Parkinson

Parkinson's disease is a neurodegenerative disease in which nerve cells in the brain slowly die. The risk of Parkinson's disease increases with age, but the disease also affects young people, sometimes even under the age of 40.

Symptoms

The most common symptoms of Parkinson’s disease are:

  • Slow movements
  • Muscle stiffness
  • Tremor
  • Balance issues
  • Speech difficulties
  • Sleep disorders
  • Depression
  • Memory issues

Causes

Heredity can play a role, but is not always the determining factor.
