Delirium is a (very) sudden onset of confusion: you behave 'strangely', you do not recognise people, etc. You cannot orient yourself in time or space. In some cases, hallucinations (i.e. hearing/seeing things that others cannot perceive) even occur. Delirium is transient.
Your doctor will discuss the treatment options with you.
