The nasal septum consists of an anterior cartilaginous part and a posterior bony part. Thus, the nose is divided into a left and right nasal cavity. Nasal septum deviation is very common, but does not necessarily give rise to symptoms. Persistent nasal obstruction can be caused by a deviated nasal septum.
