Bone scintigraphy (bone scan)

During the bone scan, a small amount of light radioactive substance (tracer) is injected. It fixes itself in the bones. After three hours, the camera can take images of the entire body. The camera does not emit radioactive rays, but takes pictures of the radiation given off by the tracer in the bones.
