Arthroscopy of the elbow

In case of insufficient improvement with medication and injections, and if the arthrosis is not too pronounced, the doctor may suggest an arthroscopy (keyhole surgery).

This allows a 'flushing' of the joint to be carried out, whereby the inflammatory tissue in the joint can be removed, any loose cartilage fragments can be removed and a thorough inspection of the joint can be carried out to assess the actual damage.
