Treatment of jawbone and facial fractures

In case of fractures and injuries of the face, the Oral, Maxillofacial and Facial Surgeon is your first contact. Every facial injury is different and therefore requires an individual approach by the surgeon, tailored to your needs. Restoration of function and aesthetics go hand in hand, of course.

Depending on the type and location of the fracture, an operation using titanium plates and screws may be chosen to fix the fracture so that it can heal properly. Such procedures are carried out under general anaesthesia.

Where possible, work is carried out via the mouth to avoid causing additional scars due to the procedure. After the initial treatment, the surgeon will continue to monitor you. Since teeth are often damaged in an accident, careful consultation with other specialists and your dentist is always needed to achieve the best end result.
