Treatment of cheekbone fractures

Fractures of the cheekbone which are substantially displaced or consist of several parts must therefore be treated surgically. If not, you may experience permanent functional impairment such as double vision, limited mouth opening or your face may be permanently deformed.

The incisions that have to be made will always be well hidden in the folds and natural wrinkles around your eyelids so that they are not noticeable afterwards. If a fracture of the cheekbone is treated surgically, you will usually stay in hospital overnight.
