Correction of protruding ears (otoplasty)

The surgical correction of prominent ears is called otoplasty. The cause of protruding or prominent ears is a deformation of the cartilage skeleton of the auricle. In most cases, the fold in the cartilage skeleton is not or is insufficiently formed. The ENT doctor can perform this operation on children from the age of 6 to 7 years.
