If more severe symptoms (such as insufficient weight gain, feeding difficulties, abnormal crying, persistent respiratory infections or colour changes) occur with 'reflux', your doctor will recommend a 24-hour pH measurement for your child. A pH measurement is an examination that measures how many times, for how long and when stomach contents return to the oesophagus.
