Biceps tendon instability or subluxation refers to when the tendon pops in and out of the groove. A tendon is dislocated when it is no longer sitting in the groove.
The patient often experiences a sudden shooting pain in the shoulder or upper arm, which is provoked by typical turning movements, also of the forearm. In mild cases, an infiltration can help, but in most cases a biceps tendon tenodesis should be performed.
Your doctor will discuss the treatment options with you.
