Lupus Erythematosus

CLE is an autoimmune disease that can affect the skin and various internal organs.

If only the skin is affected it is called cutaneous lupus erythematosus. When several organs are affected, it is called systemic lupus erythematosus. CLE is most common in women, almost 9 times more common in men, and the age of onset is usually between 10 and 30 years old. It can just develop suddenly.
