An epileptic seizure is a temporary disturbance in the brain. During this disturbance in the brain, an excess of electrical activity is released. The disturbance may occur at one or more sites.
During this attack, the brain cells are not able to communicate with each other correctly and thus send wrong signals to other parts of the body. It is possible for a person to have an epileptic seizure only once in his/her life. If the seizure was caused by a medically explicable and transient factor, it is called a provoked seizure.
Your doctor will discuss the treatment options with you.
