Clinical photographs of the mouth and face

In many cases, the oral surgeon will decide to take one or more clinical pictures with a classic light camera. This can be photos of a lesion in the mouth or photos of the face. These photos are part of your medical record.

These serve primarily for proper monitoring, e.g. to see whether a lesion is getting bigger or smaller, or changing aspect. But they can also be used to prepare optimally for and simulate an intervention. After all, the oral surgeon will work in and around the face and do their best to achieve a good aesthetic as well as functional outcome.
