Vertigo: positional vertigo, acute loss of balance and Menière’s disease, etc.

Vertigo is defined as an illusion of movement, in which the patient has the sensation either that he or she is spinning or that the environment is spinning around him/her. This is an experience that may be accompanied by nausea (with or without vomiting), diarrhoea, sweating. Vertigo is one of the major symptoms of many balance disorders, such as vestibular neuritis, BPPV, Meniere's disease, etc.
