Eardrum perforation

A perforated eardrum is a hole in the eardrum. There are small perforations and complete perforations, where little or no eardrum remnant is left. Depending on the location in the eardrum and the size and condition of the remnant of the eardrum, an eardrum perforation can be associated with hearing loss and sometimes ear discharge, for example with an underlying infection.
