Before the test

When coming to a consultation for bladder problems, it is important that you try to arrive with a well-filled bladder. So make sure you drink plenty of water before you leave home.

If your need to urinate becomes too urgent while waiting, please inform our secretary’s office. The test can then be carried out immediately, before your consultation with the doctor.

The test

You will urinate in a special toilet that registers how you urinate.

We gain information about the urination pattern on the basis of:

• the duration (seconds)
• the maximum flow rate (ml/sec)
• the average flow rate (ml/sec)
• the total volume (ml)
