The term “calcification” refers to the formation of calcium deposits. Calcium crystals can deposit in the tendons. Any tendon of the body may be affected.
This affects the Rotator Cuff tendons in the shoulder. Women are more commonly affected than men. Calcifications often go unnoticed: they do not always cause discomfort.
