Psycho-education and support for children and adolescents up to the age of 18 whose parents, grandparents and/or family are dealing with a serious illness.

What?

The Jan Yperman Hospital wants to offer (grand)children of cancer patients and patients with other serious diseases the opportunity to get support throughout the whole process of their (grand)parents' illness.

The focus is mainly on psychological counselling, but also on psycho-education and emotional support during diagnoses, consultations, examinations and hospital admissions.

Where?

At De Klimop, the children's play and support room on the fifth floor, route 55.

The room is called De Klimop (Ivy), but this can also be read in Dutch as 'Chin up'. After all, in difficult moments it is important to keep your head straight and slowly climb back up.

Many things refer to nature: ivy leaves on the wall, poufs in the shape of tree trunks, frog on the wall, cuddly toys...
