The neurosurgeon treats disorders of the nervous system (brain, spinal cord, nerves) or the spine.
Surgical treatment of these delicate structures requires precision and dedication from the neurosurgeons, who work with the most modern technology to achieve the best results with the greatest possible safety. These procedures require the use of operating microscopes, neuronavigation, neuromonitoring and intraoperative imaging with CT scan (O-arm).
Our neurosurgeons operate in different locations to reduce the threshold to neurosurgical care. In addition to consultations at the Jan Yperman Hospital, consultations are also held at AZ Delta in Roeselare and Menen.
Spinal surgery (vertebral column surgery for neck and back disorders) is performed in our hospital, as well as the treatment (through the emergency room) of acute intracranial disorders such as cerebral haemorrhage and traumatology.
