Nasal septum correction or septoplasty

If a malalignment of the nasal septum causes permanent nasal congestion, a nasal septum correction can be the solution.

During this procedure, the nasal mucosa of the nasal septum is detached from the underlying bone and cartilage through a small incision at the front of the nose. The abnormal bone and/or cartilage is then removed and replaced, with or without remodelling, in order to optimise the permeability of the nasal cavity. This procedure may or may not be combined with reducing the size of the lower nasal septum on one or both sides. No external scars are visible after this procedure.
