Eardrum tubes or grommets

Frequent acute middle ear infections or long-term chronic middle ear infections with accumulation of fluid behind the eardrum is an indication for inserting eardrum tubes. Eardrum tubes or grommets are small silicone drains that are inserted into the eardrum through a small incision. Eardrum tubes are ejected from the eardrum over time.
