Osteoarthritis is the wearing down of the cartilage in a joint. Any joints can be affected by osteoarthritis, including the AC joint.
The AC (acromioclavicular) joint is the joint between the collarbone (clavicule) and the roof of the shoulder (acromion).
Osteoarthritis is often associated with bone spur growth (osteophytes). This can be the cause of 'impingement' in the shoulder.
