Inflammatory bowel disease (Ulcerative colitis)

An inflammatory bowel disease is a disease that causes symptoms that last a long time and often a lifetime.

Its severity varies from patient to patient and its course is unpredictable. For example, one person may have continuous severe symptoms, while another only occasionally suffers from them. Good and bad periods alternate. Some people have no symptoms for years and then suddenly experience a strong resurgence. There are also patients who have symptoms once or twice and never again.

In short, chronic intestinal inflammation often follows an erratic course.
