An electrocardiogram allows the doctor to determine whether you have already had a heart attack. Heart rhythm disorders (too fast or too slow a heartbeat) and cardiomyopathy (heart muscle disease) can also be recognised through this examination.
In an ECG, a number of stickers are placed on your arms, legs and chest. These stickers make the electrical current through the heart visible. The test is completely painless and only takes 5 minutes.
