Hypospadias (malformed urethra in boys)

SERVICE(S): Urology

Hypospadias is a common congenital abnormality of the penis. The abnormality occurs in approximately 1 in 250 newborn boys.

In hypospadias, the urethral opening (meatus) is not properly located at the end of the glans, but rather elsewhere on the urethra. The penis also has an abnormal appearance because the foreskin is not fully formed.
