Since 2001, the Flemish Government has organised a population survey for the early detection of breast cancer. This makes it possible for all women between the ages of 50 and 69 to have a free preventive mammogram every two years.
Women in this target group can ask their GP or gynaecologist for a request form, or they receive a letter from the regional screening centre. They can use this request form to arrange an appointment in the Poperinge outpatient clinic or Klaverstraat radiology practice.
In Wallonia, this is called a mammotest. A ‘mammotest’ can be carried out in Komen-Comines radiology practice.
