The breast clinic of the Jan Yperman Hospital was founded in 2008 and is a legally recognised coordinating breast clinic.
At the Breast Clinic, various healthcare professionals work together to provide the best possible care for patients with breast cancer.
The team includes doctors, breast care nurses, psychologists, dietitians, social services staff and chaplains. They are involved in diagnosis, treatment and aftercare.
All healthcare professionals review each patient’s file together. Every week, they discuss patients’ cases during the Multidisciplinary Oncology Consultation (MOC).

If breast cancer is suspected, your GP can contact the breast care nurse (057 35 67 30). You can also contact the various secretariats directly. You will then be given an appointment with an oncologist or gynaecologist-breast surgeon within 24 hours (or on the next working day).
