Patient can come in for a sleep study at the Jan Yperman Hospital. A multidisciplinary team consisting of a neurologist, pneumologist, otolaryngologist and stomatologist is responsible for the adequate diagnosis and treatment of people with sleep and wake disorders.

The team

The sleep clinic focuses on:

  • fatigue, sleepiness during the day
  • suspected sleep apnoea (cessation of breathing during sleep)
  • snoring
  • difficulty falling asleep and staying asleep
  • sleep apnoea due to shift work
  • sleep disorder in Parkinson's disease, dementia
  • involuntary movements when at rest

The intake and initial examinations are carried out by the specialist doctors. If you suffer from sleep apnoea and/or snoring, a consultation with a pneumologist is recommended.

If you have a problem falling asleep or maintaining sleep, we recommend that you visit a neurologist.
