If pelvic floor rehabilitation does not produce the desired results or if the incontinence is too severe, surgery is one of the most effective means of resolving stress-related urine loss.
The aim of surgery is to correct the weakness of the urethra's suspension system. The most common method now is to place a band under the middle part of the urethra. The strap provides support to the urethra when coughing, sneezing or pushing. After a small incision in the anterior vaginal wall, the band can be inserted in different ways.
A small incision of 2 cm is made at the anterior vaginal wall. A bladder catheter and/or tampon is inserted after the operation. The operation lasts 20 to 30 minutes.
