Sclerotherapy (treatment of hemorrhoidal tissue)

During sclerotherapy, a chemical irritant is injected, which triggers a scarring reaction resulting in scarring and thus a shrinkage of the blood vessels in the haemorrhoidal tissue.

Sclerotherapy is quick, usually painless and has few complications. Sometimes several sessions are needed to achieve symptom control.
