Anal fistula

An anal fistula is always connected to an abscess. A fistula is a narrow tunnel that forms under the skin, or sometimes through the sphincter, connecting the inflamed anal gland to the skin of the buttocks. An abscess is the acute form and a fistula is the chronic form of the same problem.
