A cardiac arrhythmia is an abnormality in the speed, regularity and/or origin of the heart’s rhythm.
These can manifest themselves in palpitations, a feeling of skipped beats (extra heartbeats and pauses, a trembling feeling in the chest and throat (palpitations)).
Sometimes the arrhythmia interferes with the heart's pumping function, resulting in low blood pressure. This sometimes causes spinning, light-headedness and fainting.
