Andrology or the ‘study of the man’ includes the diagnosis and treatment of disorders in male fertility, hormone production (e.g. testosterone) and sexual function.
Dr. A. Nollet earned an accreditation as Clinical Andrologist from the European Academy of Andrology in Turin (2001).
Treatment for male subfertility is proposed in close consultation with Dr. Ilse Vanderbeke, the gynaecologist responsible for assisted reproduction techniques in our hospital (cf. 'Treatments' section).
In case of insufficient production of the male hormone due to a disorder of the testes or the pituitary gland, testosterone administration will be considered. The practical arrangements and the possibility of reimbursement will be discussed during the andrological consultation.
After a comprehensive hormonal screening and initiation of treatment, if erectile dysfunction persists, a referral will be made to the Urology department.
