When you step into the Pediatrics department, you almost feel like you’re in a picture book. The corridor features large landscape murals by Bruges graffiti artist Peter Ysebie. These colorful murals create a playful, child-friendly atmosphere. After all, the little ones should feel at home as much as possible.

The Pediatrics department is all about ‘Traveling around the world’. The adventure starts at ‘pediatrics station’, where you report for departure. You can wait on the platform until your travel destination - your room - is ready. Each room represents a different country, and the door is the very clue of where you will be travelling. You might go to China, or Russia!

The corridor forms the travel route you follow. You journey along the highway, by car or by bus, while enjoying the landscape and finding the way to your country. Signposts and road sings help you get to your destination safely. There is an extra surprise at the end of the corridor: a playroom that has been transformed into a sunny seaside resort, complete with beach playhouse.
Thanks to this thoughtful concept, the pediatric ward feels less like a hospital and more like a space where children feel safe, welcome and at ease.
This artwork can be found on route 50.
