The Twoape entrance hall features a colorful, large artwork by Izegem artist Lisa Spillebeen.

The piece is the result of a participatory project with the children and young people from Twoape. During workshops with Lisa, they made self-portrait around the theme of ‘Layers’.
By working in layers, the artist wanted to show that from perceived mistakes, something positive can emerge. For every layer, the children looked at what they thought was successful and what they wanted to change in the next layer. In doing so, the piece grew with each step until eventually, a self-portrait emerged that consisted entirely of elements the children were happy with.
Their final results were compiled into booklets, which were also later exhibited. These booklets were the inspiration for Lisa’s artwork, which has now found its permanent place in the entrance hall.

The artwork was installed in conjunction with the opening of the hospital’s K wing, home to child psychiatry, rehabilitation and dialysis.
On the first floor is Twoape, a day therapy unit for children and adolescents aged 7 to 14 who are developmentally stalled and for whom outpatient support is not sufficient. Their problems can range from concentration and behavioral disorders to depression and anxiety disorders. A multidisciplinary team of psychiatrists, psychologists, educators, occupational therapists, physiotherapists and nurses provides day-to-day support. Thanks to Penta, there is also adapted hospital education.
This artwork can be found on route 95.
