Here you will find all the practical information for your admission to the Maternity ward.

Room choice

At the time of admission, you can choose between a:

  • luxury room
  • single room
  • double room

It is not necessary to reserve a room for your stay after the birth of your child(ren). When you are admitted to the maternity ward, you tell the midwife what room you have chosen.

Each room has a telephone, television, separate baby box, bathroom with shower, washbasin and toilet. Of course, there is no difference in terms of care, treatment or meals between the different room types.

When you stay in a luxury room or a single room, all doctors-specialists who treat you may charge additional fees. This fee is not reimbursed by the health insurance fund. It is best to discuss this in advance with your doctor.

Pre-registration Maternity ward

From now on, you can register with your eID at the kiosks from week 30 of your pregnancy. Select the maternity pre-registration option. When it is your turn, go to the registration counters.

What do we put in place for you beforehand?

  • We will give you all the information you need about your admission to the hospital for childbirth.
  • We will look at which hospitalisation insurance applies and what you still must do for it.
  • You sign the admission documents depending on the desired room (no room reservation).
  • We provide you with brochures and useful information about the paperwork.

More info or questions? Contact Admissions via opname@yperman.net or 057 35 65 21.

Visiting hours and other info

Your partner and your other children can visit you all day long. Partners can stay until 10 p.m. and can leave the hospital via the main entrance until that time.

General rule: maximum two visitors simultaneously, between 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Every visitor is welcome, between 3 p.m. to 7 p.m., but a maximum of two people per patient may visit simultaneously.

We give some suggestions for the birth announcement card:

  • You can specify more limited visiting hours than the general visiting hours at maternity, in order to be able to rest more
  • It is also good to mention the date of your departure from hospital

For reasons of hygiene, we do not recommend that visitors with small children use the facilities in your room that are intended for the care of you and your child. We have a feeding room where, among other things, a nappy cushion is available. To change a fresh nappy, we always ask you to use the nappy changing pad. Wash your hands before and after changing nappies.
