Inhabitants of Poperinge and the surrounding areas do not always have to travel to the Jan Yperman Hospital in Ypres for an examination or a consultation.
Some 30 specialists hold consultations and perform examinations at the outpatient clinic. General practitioners can also refer their patients there for medical imaging, blood tests or scans, bone densitometry, mammography and colonoscopy.
Besides, Poperinge outpatient clinic also has a room for minor surgeries under local anaesthetic.
For every appointment at the Outpatient Clinic Poperinge, always scan your electronic identity card (eID, ISI+ card or Kids-ID) at the kiosk at the reception desk.
This is important for your hospital invoice*. The reimbursement by your health insurance fund is deducted immediately, so you only pay the personal contribution (co-payment).
*The Belgian National Institute for Health and Disability Insurance (RIZIV) stipulates that every patient is legally required to scan their eID at each hospital visit.
