There is some advice we would like to give you in preparation of your admission, certain things you should take care of in advance: the pre-operative assessment, healthcare insurance and choice of room.
If you are admitted for a surgical procedure (operation), you should visit the pre-operative department (route 79) to have your record created, at the latest 3 days before your admission.
Please sign in with your ‘pre-op’ stickers and bring your medication list if necessary.
If you have any questions, please contact our pre-operative department by telephone on 057 35 61 21 or send an e-mail.
The department is available every working day from 8:30 to 17:45h.
Please contact your insurance company well before the day of admission to notify them of your admission.
Direct billing is available for certain insurance companies (not for healthcare insurance of your national insurance company).
Please bring your documents and/or insurance card with you on the day of admission.
Please inform the doctor who is planning your admission about the type of room you prefer. If you haven’t done so, please let the admissions department (at the main entrance) know well before the day of admission.
The difference in price for a single room is only due to the greater comfort and privacy, there is no difference in care, treatment or meals.
When you stay in a single room, all doctors-specialists who treat you may charge additional fees (including anaesthetists, radiologists...), although this is limited to a maximum of 150%. This fee is not reimbursed by the health insurance fund. It is best to discuss this in advance with your doctor.
For the maternity, paediatrics and palliative care departments, there is a separate arrangement for room selection.
The price simulator will give you a price estimate for a number of procedures, as well as the difference in price between a single and a double room. However, these are only indications, which can be influenced by prolonged stay, complications ...
In case of emergency admission or overcrowding, it may not be possible to immediately get your final room. Either your preference for the type of room cannot be met, or the room is situated in a ward where your doctor does not normally hospitalise his/her patients. In either case, we will do our best to meet your requirements as quickly as possible.

The health insurance will reimburse a stay in a double room, except for your personal share.
If you stay in a single room, you will be charged a daily room charge that is not covered by health insurance. If the stay in a single room is necessary for medical reasons, no room surcharge will be charged.
When you register for admission, it is a good idea to always bring the necessary administrative information and the necessary personal material with you. On this page you can read everything about your check-in and the documents and belongings to take with you.
